Angelina Jolie Promotes World Refugee Day

Never one to turn down humanitarian work, Angelina Jolie recorded a public service announcement for World Refugee Day (held on June 20) to help raise awareness about the plight of millions of people at risk.

The 33-year-old “Wanted” actress first became attached to the work of the UN’s refugee agency during a February 2001 visit to war-torn Sierra Leone in West Africa, prior to filming Beyond Borders with Clive Owen.
“They have survived war, they have survived displacement, they have survived rape, they have survived hunger and disease,” says Jolie (who’s expecting twins with Brad Pitt this summer). “For those who have survived and for those who did not, we are thinking of you on this day.”

In the PSA, Jolie, who acts as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency, explains what life is like for millions around the world while emotive scenes of refugees flash on the screen.

The actress and human rights activist is also planning to write an article for a major U.S. newspaper to coincide with Friday’s day of action. (World Refugee Day will be marked by events worldwide: London’s Trafalgar Square is being converted into a replica Darfur village, Rome’s Colosseum will be lit with the refugee agency’s logo, and, in Washington, D.C., Chicago Bulls basketball player Luol Deng will receive the Humanitarian of the Year award.)

Angelina Jolie is no more St. John Spokesmodel

After three years, Angelina Jolie is out as the face of luxury brand St. John as the contract between the Hollywood actress and the company is inevitable coming to an end. Angelina Jolie appeared in the print ads shot by Mario Testino for the past three years for an estimated $12 million.

It was a great run we had with Mario Testino, David Lipman and, of course, Angelina Jolie. Three years is a long time to maintain any campaign, and we felt it was time to do something new and different. [The campaign] ties in nicely to our whole rebranding initiative.

Angelina Jolie Does Entertainment Weekly June 2008

The one and only Angelina Jolie, did an exclusive interview with this week’s edition of Entertainment Weekly, on newsstands on Friday. In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, Angelina Jolie discusses motherhood, her home life and her controversial public image.

The pregnant Celebrity has two films se to come out Wanted, an action thriller, and the crime drama, The Changeling, she also just wrapped up the animated children’s flick, Kung Fu Panda.

On her ideal weekend:

I have a lot of those. Very simple things. On weekends we usually have family sleep. We always have one night a week where everybody stays up late, watches a movie, and stays in our bed. We have, like, a slumber party.

On how her pregnancy has affected her sex life:

It’s great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.

On her unwedded bliss with partner Brad Pitt:

I say “partner” sometimes. “Father of my children” is too long. But half the time people refer to us as, “Your wife this, your husband that.” We’ve stopped correcting everybody. It’s not a big intentional thing not to marry. We immediately were a family when we became a couple, and children were the priority, and we’re both legally committed to the children.

On finding the perfect gift for Brad:

Brad is the hardest person to shop for. He has impeccable design taste. And whenever he sees something he likes, he buys it for himself.

On her often misunderstood public image:

The reason I talked about going through certain pains or even cutting myself is that I was already out the other side. I knew there were people that do that — and somehow are happy that somebody admitted they did and discussed how they got out of it. I don’t see the point of doing an interview unless you’re going to share the things you learn in life and the mistakes you make. So to admit that I’m extremely human and have done some dark things, I don’t think makes me unusual or unusually dark. I think it actually is the right thing to do and I’d like to think it’s the nice thing to do.

On whether she’s drawn to extremes:

I think so, yeah. We joke about that at home a lot, because we walk in different worlds together, Brad and I. We joke about the extremes of the things we’ll do. There’s a side of us that’s so mommy-daddy and then there’s a side of us that’s…very man and woman. We both like to ride motorcycles, we both like to fly planes, that’s the spirited side of us. Then the other side of us is very focused on silly mommy-daddy things. So I guess that’s extremes, but I just think of that as balance.

Clint Eastwood: ‘Angelina Jolie’s Acting Is Overlooked By Her Beauty’

Here’s a good point of view brought by director Clint Eastwood, who said that Hollywood Celebrity Angelina Jolie is under-rated as an actress because people focus on her beauty too much and overlook her acting skills. The actor-turned-moviemaker directs Angelina Jolie in new movie The Changeling and he insists that though she is a very beautiful woman, she is also a talented actress with more substance to her personality than eyes can see.

I think that people underestimate her talent because she is such a good-looking woman. That was a problem Ingrid Bergman encountered. Bette Davis didn’t have that handicap; her face didn’t fit the standards of glamour. People instantly though of her as a great actress.

Angelina Jolie is more like Simone Signoret, whose obvious glamor never obscured her personality.

Angelina Jolie Says Being Pregnant with Twins Was a ‘Shock’

Angelina Jolie has talked candidly about her desire to continue expanding her family with Brad Pitt. But when the actress found out she was pregnant with twins, well, even she was taken aback.

“We weren’t expecting twins,” Jolie, 33, tells Entertainment Weekly in a new interview. “So it did shock us, and we jumped to six [children] quickly. But we like a challenge.”

With a house full of kids, Jolie says she needs help – so it’s a good thing there’s family around to pitch in. “[Brad’s] mom and dad are on standby to come out and help,” she says.

But the real focus, Jolie says, is making sure their other children – Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 – feel included when their new siblings are born. Says the actress: “They’re old enough to feel included to change diapers themselves, to feed bottles themselves, like if I pump into a bottle. We’re trying to find ways where it can be a fun group thing … Everybody gets special time so we can make sure we know where they’re at.”

As for how she’s handling being pregnant with twins, the actress tells EW she’s taking it easy and letting Pitt handle all the heavy lifting – literally. “We’ve worked out a system where Brad just lifts [the kids] to me every time they want to come up,” she says. “I just don’t bend down. I’ll scream, ‘Honey!’ and he’ll come running and lift them up.”

And pregnancy has other benefits as well. “It’s great for the sex life,” she says. “It just makes you a lot more creative. So you have fun, and as a woman you’re just so round and full.”

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt twins pictures to sell for $15 Million?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly set to receive around $15million for the exclusive first pictures of their forthcoming twins.

The couple received a record-breaking total of $7.6million for the first photos of daughter Shiloh in 2006, which raised the price tag for celebrity pictures generally - but the arrival of the twins this summer is expected to hit whopping new heights.

According to media sources, only People and OK magazines in the US are left standing in the eight-figure bidding war, with one inside source saying the pictures would be such a coup that the magazine would “print blank pages” for the rest of the year if needs be to pay for them.

A spokesperson for People magazine confirmed they “would love” to land the pictures while a rep for OK said they’d be “foolish” not to try for the photos.

As with the 2006 sale (which was split between People magazine in the US and Hello! magazine with the international rights), the family are expected to give the money to charity.

Angelina Jolie Says She Can Be a Disciplinarian

When it comes to parenting, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are nothing if not hands-on.

In terms of disciplining Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2, the pregnant (with twins) Jolie, who turns 33 on Wednesday, tells Vanity Fair for its July issue that she operates on a rewards system, though admits, “You end up hearing yourself saying all those clichéd parent things: ‘I don’t care who started it, but I’m here to finish it.’ ”

In terms of day-to-day child-rearing, she presents the children with sticker stars that are redeemable for treats – thereby keeping them in line while also teaching them the tenets of capitalism. Besides, that method “is how my mom [Marcheline Bertrand] raised me, which is to figure out who I was and try to enhance my individual personality and not get in the way of it. But I can really discipline the kids when I need to.”

When it comes to professional caregivers, “We don’t ever have anybody spend the night,” she says. “We may have to adjust that when the next one comes. But we do have ladies that work with us, and they’re also from different cultures and backgrounds. One lady’s a Vietnamese teacher – wonderful. One is of Congolese descent from Belgium. Another is from the States and is really creative and does art programs.”

Jolie also says that the decision to have children from three continents was “absolutely intentional. When I was growing up I wanted to adopt, because I was aware there were kids that didn’t have parents. It’s not a humanitarian thing, because I don’t see it as a sacrifice. It’s a gift. We’re all lucky to have each other.”

Angelina Jolie Gives Birth in France

Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie has given birth in France to twins fathered by actor Brad Pitt, bringing the Hollywood couple's brood to six children, according to the celebrity television program "Entertainment Tonight.

The report, which was attributed to an unidentified person close to the 32-year-old actress, contained no details, and there was no immediate comment from representatives for either Jolie or Pitt.

It was just two weeks ago that Jolie publicly acknowledged she was pregnant with twins during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival, where she was promoting the animated film "Kung Fu Panda" and the latest Clint Eastwood drama, "The Exchange."

In Touch magazine reported this week that Jolie had been ordered to bed for the rest of her pregnancy and was due to give birth via a Caesarean section around mid-July.

Jolie and Pitt, 44, together have adopted 3-year-old daughter Zahara, 6-year-old son Maddox and 4-year-old son Pax. They also have a biological daughter, 22-month-old Shiloh.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie just renting

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have signed a three-year lease for a 880-acre chateau valued at $70 million on the French Riviera. Lease, you heard? They are just renting.. wow.. Brad & Jolie won’t be too lonely, they will be living near homes owned.

We are certainly thinking of France,” she [Jolie] said at the Cannes Film Festival last week. The property, called Chateau Miraval – which is near homes owned by Johnny Depp and the Beckhams – includes a vineyard, lake, moat, forest and 20 fountains, the paper reports.

Jolie, 32, and Pitt, 44 are raising their four children – Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2 – with French roots.

“[French is] a second language in the house, although I’m still learning and am not going to attempt any of it here today,” Jolie said at Cannes. “My children are starting to speak French, so being here is very good for them and their language.

Happy Birthdau Shiloh Jolie-Pitt!!

On May 27, 2006, Angelina Jolie gave birth to a daughter, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, in Swakopmund, Namibia by a scheduled caesarean section. Pitt confirmed that their newly-born daughter will have a Namibian passport, and Jolie decided to offer the first pictures of Shiloh through the distributor Getty Images herself, rather than allowing paparazzi to make these extremely valuable snapshots. People paid more than $4.1 million for the North American rights, while British magazine Hello! obtained the international rights for roughly $3.5 million; the total rights sale earned up to $10 million worldwide – the most expensive celebrity image of all time. All profits were donated to an undisclosed charity by Jolie and Pitt. Madame Tussauds in New York unveiled a wax figure of two-month-old Shiloh; it was the first infant re-created in wax by Madame Tussauds.

The firstborn daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is no stranger to the world – since her birth in Namibia on May 27, 2006, she's jetted to India, New Orleans, Cambodia and most recently Cannes. Of course, she's never alone for the ride, with sister Zahara, 3, and brothers Maddox, 6, and Pax, 4, by her side!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's new $70 Million house in France

Hollywood Celebrity Couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are currently in France where they plan to receive their unborn twins and purchased a brand new $70 million house in South France.Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's new $70 million house in South France should make every one sit up and take note of their stated intent to further expand their brood. They may just be in right earnest, considering the sprawling 1,000-acre estate has 35 bedrooms!

Even the addition to the family of the twins due in August, will account for just 8 bedrooms.

Called the Chateau Miraval, the house in a village called Brignol also comes with a vineyard, lake, forest and moat!

The stone walled terraced farmland have been replanted with 13 different varieties of olives. A stream that runs through the estate passes through hidden tunnels, flows into the moat and fills the lake. Water is plentiful - there are 20 fountains.

"Brad and Angelina are thrilled, they love the place and have already been furniture shopping to fill the place as it's massive," an insider told E! Online. "They've already spent almost another million on furniture and the whole family can't wait to move in."

What Jolie and Pitt probably love most about their new house is its vast expanse and the surrounding foliage, which shields the family from the prying paparazzi telephoto lenses.

"No one will ever be able to get pictures of them relaxing at home, it's just impossible," says the source.

The family intends to complete their move over the next three months.

Brad Piit and Jolie Shop for Babies in Cannes

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made an unscheduled appearance in the French Riviera town of Cannes for a shopping spree at one of their favorite baby boutiques, Bonpoint, on MOnday. In 45 minutes, the couple looked at dresses for daughters Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, who turns 2 next week, and, according to store spokesperson bought “only white, white, white” for their soon-to-be-born twins in “sizes 1 to 3 mos.”

What are they having? According the spokesperson, when an employee asked whether she was expecting boys or girls, the star of Wanted and Kung Fu Panda replied “I don’t know yet – we don’t want to know.”

Angelina Jolie Heroin Video Released

Britain’s Daily Sun released the rumored Angelina Jolie heroin video after last month, The National Enquirer reported that video footage of Angelina Jolie using heroin valued $70,000. The Sun video features Angelina Jolie (who recently graced Cannes International Film Festival red carpet) can be seen casually puffing cancer sticks as several of her neighbors participate in drug use.

Angelina Jolie has been pretty open about her past drug use - pre-children. She's admitted to using cocaine, ecstacy, LSD and heroin. Admitting it publicly is one thing, but now, there's apparently a video of her actually snorting and smoking heroin and that video is being shopped around - hard.

You know, admittedly, I've never liked Angelina Jolie - never liked her in movies, always thought she was the one who came between Brad and Jennifer Aniston (who knows for sure right?), thought she seemed "cold," - generally had a dislike for her. Obviously I don't know her personally, but something about her rubbed me the wrong way. However - and I can't believe I'm even typing this - I sorta have a soft spot for her now. Seriously, the more I write about her, the more I like her. I think part of it is, even though she's this big time celebrity, travels the world, is 8 million times richer than I'll ever be, is sleeping with my boyfriend (Brad Pitt), has 43 homes all over the planet, the woman lets her kids eat Cheetos, and doesn't care if they have ice cream for breakfast, her children fight and squabble like all other siblings, famous or not and to me that's A-okay. Sure, she'll never be exactly like the rest of us just because of who she is and her celebrity, but she's kinda like us.

My point is, I don't want there to be a drug snorting, shooting-up video of Angelina Jolie. I don't want it to be true. Now the "source" of this whole sorted story is from the National Enquirer, so it could all be big fat lies. They're not past telling big fat lies.

The scoop is, the tape's owner is looking for at least five figures and it's being shopped all over town. The video is allegedly from the '90's when Jolie would have been in her 20's. Before Brad and before 4 kids and twins on the way.

This is part of the article:

The key part of the tape is Angelina doing heroin. She says, ‘Wow, this is really good smack - not that cheap crap that’s been stepped on.’ Angelina is seen sniffing white lines from a plate, and then as the drug cooks on tinfoil, she deeply sucks in its smoke through a tube.”

The actress has admitted using hard drugs in the past. She once said, “I’ve done coke, heroin, ecstasy, LSD everything. I hate heroin because I’ve been fascinated with it. I’m not immune, but I won’t do it now, at all.” However, video proof could damage her career and reputation as a charity campaigner.

Let's say it's true - she's admitted her drug use in her earlier years. She wasn't a mom. She wasn't pregnant. Does her past affect who she is now as a woman, as someone who donates time and money to charity, as a friend, as a lover, as a mother? I'm sure most of us have done something questionable and/or possibly illegal in our younger years and have gone on to be decent, productive members of society and - grown up to be fantastic parents

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the Cannes International Flim Festival red carpet

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made a splash on the red carpet premiere of her flick Kung Fu Panda in Cannes Thursday.

Jolie, dressed in a stunning empire-waist gown that showed off her bump, beamed next to her beau, who sported a slightly grown out version of his Forrest Gump hairstyle.

At a press conference for the film a few hours earlier, Jolie told reporters that Pitt may be late for the premiere.

"He's with our kids right now, but he'll get his suit on at the last minute, I'm sure," she said. "He'll pull it together."

Jolie, who told Usmagazine.com that she's "feeling great, thank you very much," also announced major baby news at the Cannes Film Festival.

On Wednesday, she confirmed she's having twins, due August 19 (watch the video here). But earlier today, she admitted on French TV that she's actually giving birth in a couple of weeks!

Jolie said babies no. 5 and 6 may be born in France.

"I actually haven't completely decided," she said. "We are certainly thinking of France."

"[French is] a second language in the house, although I'm still learning and am not going to attempt any of it here today," she added. "My children are starting to speak French, so being here is very good for them and their language

The Jolie-Pitt clan have been staying in France at Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s historic Florentine-styled Villa Maryland.

Morales also reported that the parents do everything they can to keep their children aware of their individual native customs and heritages.

Of Zahara, said Jolie, “Our daughter’s very proud that she’s African.” Of Maddox and Pax: “And our boys are very proud that they’re Asian – they know about their country … down to their food or their flags or their music.”

Jolie also admires her children’s curiosity, saying they “ask great questions about life. They ask questions about war that are poignant and spot-on, because they’re the questions we should all be asking ourselves.”se photos?
