Nicole Richie Talent Search Reality Show

Harlow’s mama had a good reason for being at MTV headquarters last week. New whispers from the Rumor Mill claim Nicole Richie is planning a big return to the small screen via a new reality show that will go on the hunt for the nation’s next untalented socialite.

EW.com has learned that the former coheadliner of The Simple Life has been pitching a reality show that would scour the country for the next, well, Nicole Richie. According to one exec who’s heard the pitch, the unscripted show would take seven girls from across the U.S. and test their ability to achieve insta-fame.

There are presently three undisclosed networks interested in Nic’s proposed series.

Nicole & Joel Keep It Fresh with Sushi Dates

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are balancing parenthood and coupledom by carving out time for dinner dates.

“We go out like once a week,” Joel Madden said at the opening of SugarFish sushi restaurant in Marina del Rey on Monday night. “We take a night to ourselves once a week.”

The couple also trade off baby duties. “I’ll stay home with the baby one night and then she’ll do the same – we do that a lot,” says Madden.

While Richie readily admits her life now revolves around baby Harlow, she and Madden still hit some of their favorite spots together.

“On our nights off we always go to Nozawa” sushi in Studio City, adds Richie, “so it was really special to be able to come here tonight.”

Joel Madden Says Baby Harlow Likes The Cure

Nursery rhymes are fine, but baby Harlow “likes The Cure,” proud papa – and weekend DJ – Joel Madden says.

Madden, whose daughter with Nicole Richie, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, was born in January, jetted to the Hamptons for Memorial Day Weekend to spin records at La Playa in Southampton, but he’s not sticking around.

“The Hamptons are definitely a good place to hang out for the whole summer,” he said. “But I’m a dad now. I’d be staying if I didn’t have the girls at home. That’s why I’m going home.”

See pictures of Harlow with mom and dad.

The crowd at La Playa “went nuts for Justin Timberlake, and for [Black Kids]’ ‘I’m Not Going to Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance,’ Madonna, and Prince,” he said.

But for Harlow, Madden has a different playlist that includes “a lot of Disney stuff and classical. She likes Good Charlotte. And she likes her granddad [Lionel Richie]’s music. She likes old stuff. She’s a Cure fan … She likes The Cure.”

According to Madden, Harlow already moves to the music. “Oh, yeah,” he said. She kicks her legs.”

It’s no wonder Madden says one of his favorite things to do with Harlow is “listen to music and change diapers.”

Nicole Richie Gets Golden Pacifier Awards

The Celebrity mom Nicole Richie is doing such a great job as a parent to her daughter Harlow that Babytalk Magazine will honor the star with it’s annual “Golden Pacifier Award.” Nicole Richie will receive the a parenting award after just five months into motherhood, as she gave birth to her first child, daughter Harlow, in January.

“Honoring Nicole Richie with a Babytalk Golden Pacifier Award might come as a surprise to some, but we felt that she deserved some recognition for her turnaround since becoming a mom,” editor-in-chief Lisa Moran tells OK!.
Noting that the 26-year-old has done a full 180 in the past year, rising from the ashes of her DUI and brief jail sentence to opening the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation with fiancée Joel Madden, Lisa adds that Nicole has “set a good example” with her ways.
“She’s grown up a lot since the arrival of little Harlow, and her creation of the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation has demonstrated her efforts to set a good example by shining a spotlight on important issues affecting today’s families,” she says.
Nicole made some big changes in her life and from the recent photos of Nicole Richie in the park with Joel and baby Harlow, you can see she has talent as motherhood!! I remember from her Simple Life days, Nicole was the one who bonded with kids!
Congrats mommy Nicole!!!

Nicole Richie in US Harper's Bazzar Magazine June 2008

Nicole Richie is featured on the June 2008 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Magazine. The former Simple Life star is gracing the June 2007 edition of Harper’s Bazaar with fiance Joel Madden and four month daughter Harlow, along with an interview. Nicole talks about motherhood experience, marriage and kids, the couple foundation and perspectives among other.

On motherhood: Hmm, I would say how fun it is. Everybody talks about how difficult it is in the first three months, but I absolutely love it. Everything I do is for her. My whole life revolves around her and I absolutely love it. I was so excited from the minute I found out I was pregnant … and it’s been nothing but an amazing ride since.

How Lionel thinks Nicole has changed: Motherhood has given her all the keys to understanding how her mother and I were trying to raise her. Now it has come full circle.

On the topic of marriage and more kids: One day, yeah — not tomorrow, not today. We are committed to our family. I’m 26. I’ve definitely had a very eventful year. So right now, it’s about me enjoying my time with my daughter. I want five children: twin boys and three girls. I’ve wanted that since I was a little girl.

On Joel as a father: Joel actually changes more diapers than I do! It’s his time with her. He sings to her … he laughs with her, plays with her. It’s amazing.

On the decision to start the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation: I got like 10 cribs and 20 strollers. For one little girl! So we wanted to take the gifts we got and give them to the people who actually needed them. [We met with charity advising firm] Inspired Philanthropy, and they really opened our eyes.

On tattoos: To be honest
, it would completely break my heart if she got a tattoo!

NICOLE RICHIE

Biography

Nicole Camille Escovedo was born in Berkeley, California, on September 21, 1981. Her biological parents were Peter Michael Escovedo, a member of Lionel Richie's band and brother to '80s pop percussionist Sheila E., and an anonymous backstage assistant.

At the age of 3, for financial reasons, Nicole moved in with her father's bandmate Lionel and his then-wife Brenda Harvey-Richie. Six years later, Richie officially adopted Nicole.

There are plenty of privileges to being raised in affluent circles. Nicole's formative years were spent at Los Angeles' prestigious Buckley School, where she met and befriended Paris Hilton, the heir to the Hilton empire.

But money is also often synonymous with the fast lane, and as a teenager Nicole began partying hard and experimenting with drugs and alcohol. Following her high school graduation in 2000, she decided to go to college.

She enrolled in the University of Arizona, the same school as pro basketball player Luke Walton and actress Heather Blair. Nicole dropped out after two years.

At this point, with the influences of her youth still fresh in her mind, Nicole decided to become a musician. She founded the rock band Darling with model Josie Maran and socialite sisters Soleil and Sofia Alberti.

On her own and on the loose, Nicole never broke out of the pattern of her teenage years. In February of 2003, the police pulled her over in Malibu. She was questioned and it was soon discovered she was driving with a suspended license. Upon searching her Mercedes-Benz, police found heroin in the car and Nicole was immediately arrested. She later plead guilty to all charges. Nicole was sentenced to probation and ordered to attend a drug rehabilitation program.

Nicole was first signed on to The Simple Life as a replacement for Paris' sister Nicky, who was approached by FOX executives, but wasn't interested in participating. The show aired in December of 2003 and was successful enough to justify two sequels (so far...): The Simple Life 2: Road Trip and The Simple Life 3: Interns.

The fame that The Simple Life earned her allowed Nicole to branch out. She made appearances on such shows as Eve (starring rapper Eve), Punk'd, Rock Me Baby, and MADtv. She was cast alongside Julie Bowen in Kids In America, and is still working on breaking into the music industry.

Living drug-free in Los Angeles, Nicole has been romantically linked to Elijah Blue Allman. In February 2005, it was announced that she is engaged to disc jockey Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein.
