Mariah carey and Fergie Among MTV VMAJ 2008 Winners




As a prelude to Sunday night’s 2008 MTV Movie Awards, the cable music channel held the 7th annual MTV Video Music Awards Japan at the Saitama Super Arena on Saturday (May 31).

The show was hosted by award-winning performing artist Cyril, featuring performances by world class acts including Mariah Carey and Fergie.

During the course of the evening, Exile was the big winner with Best Album of the Year, while Mariah picked up the Video Vanguard Award and Fergie nabbed Best Female Video.

The night’s award winners included:

Best Male Video - Ne-Yo (Because of You Because of You)

Best Female Video - Fergie (Big Girls Don’t Cry Big Girls Don’t Cry)

Best Group Video - m-flo loves & Ryohei & Emyli & Yoshika & Lisa (Love Comes and Goes)

Best New Artist Video - Hata Motohiro (Squamous (Scale))

Best Video of the Year - EXILE (I Believe I Believe)

Best Rock Video - Radwimps (Custom-made)

Best Pop Video – Avril Lavigne (Girlfriend)

Best R & B Video - Namie Amuro (Hide & Seek)

Best Album of the Year - EXILE (EXILE LOVE)
